Maleth, Meaning Shelter
Every spring, the Maltese countryside erupts in gunfire as locals hunt migratory bird species. While a war on the practice is waged inside courts, foreign conservationists meet poachers on their own land. Set against the built environment of one of the most densely populated countries in Europe, Maleth, Meaning Shelter is a survey of idiosyncrasy and an interrogation of futility within the atmosphere of polarised cultural contention that persists as avian travellers attempt to advance toward their breeding grounds in mainland Europe.
